Position Description:
eo&co is seeking a Digital Director to support its progressive advocacy, movement building, and election-related work. This role will play a key part in managing, developing, and executing digital strategies that mobilize supporters, influence public narratives, and supports coalition and electoral campaigns. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker, developer, and a hands-on practitioner who thrives in fast-paced, values-driven environments.
Core Responsibilities:
The Digital Director will be responsible for a mix of managing, strategic planning, execution, and collaboration, including but not limited to:
Lead the development and execution of integrated digital strategies that advance organizational goals, campaign objectives, and movement-building priorities across multiple clients and initiatives.
Serve as a senior advisor on digital strategy, emerging trends, and innovative tactics.
Set digital program priorities, establish performance benchmarks, and ensure alignment with broader organizational and campaign strategies.
Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging platforms, tools, and methodologies to maintain competitive advantage.
Build capacity across the organization by developing digital skills, tools, and best practices that elevate overall program effectiveness.
Oversee the development of compelling, platform-optimized content across all digital channels, including social media, email, websites, SMS programs, and paid media.
Ensure message discipline, brand consistency, and narrative alignment across all digital touchpoints and coalition partners.
Guide rapid-response communications during high-stakes moments, crises, or fast-moving news cycles.
Lead digital aspects of coalition work, representing the organization in partner meetings and collaborative campaigns.
Serve as a digital subject matter expert for clients, surrogates, and high-profile stakeholders.
Required Experience
8–10+ years of progressive digital experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role overseeing digital strategy and staff.
Proven track record leading digital programs for progressive advocacy, movement-building, and/or electoral campaigns at scale.
Demonstrated experience managing teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences and platforms.
Deep expertise in social media strategy, content development, and platform-specific best practices.
Advanced proficiency with digital analytics tools and the ability to translate data into actionable strategic insights.
Extensive experience with advocacy and organizing platforms (e.g., Action Network, EveryAction, NGP VAN, or similar).
Strong working knowledge of digital advertising ecosystems, including Meta, Google, programmatic, and connected TV.
Experience managing digital budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation.
Proficiency with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and CMS platforms.
Fluency in English; Spanish-language proficiency strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
Leadership experience across at least three electoral cycles, including statewide or national campaigns.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Comfort working in coalition environments and with diverse partners and stakeholders
Ability to translate strategy into clear, actionable tactics.
Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to work.
Commitment to progressive values, equity, and social justice.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is unlikely, but no more than 2 trips per quarter.
Salary and Benefits:
This role is compensated at a flat monthly rate of $12,000 with full-time capacity expected. This is a contract position, not an employee role, and does not include employee benefits such as health insurance or retirement contributions. The Parties are independent contractors. Nothing in this engagement will be construed to create a joint venture, partnership, or an agency relationship between the Parties. A contractor has the sole right and obligation to manage and perform all work to be assigned under this engagement. This role is currently set to start immediately through November 30, 2026 with a possibility to renew in December 2026.
